MAPUSA: Goa excelled at the 5th small side all India invitational football tournament, held at Duler Stadium, Mapusa, recently.
Goa won the U-17 Boys and Youth Boys categories while they emerged runners-up in the U-14 category.
In the U-17 boys, Goa defeated Maharashtra while in the Youth category the host got the better of Punjab. Meanwhile in the U-14 category Goa lost to Maharashtra.
In the U-12 category Haryana beat Maharashtra.
All together nine states participated in the tournament.
In the closing ceremony chief guest Lavinio Rebello (Vice President GFA) gave away the prizes to the winners and runners-up in the presence of organizing secretary Moti Lal, Joint Secretary Rajkumar Hulburge , International coordinator Takdir Sayyed, Chhattisgarh Secretary Ankur Singh, Punjab Secretary Piyush Kaushik, Shivam Pal, Tushar A. Bhagat and Anti Lobo.
