PANJIM: Salgaocar Football Club registered an emphatic 5-0 win over Churchill Brothers FC Goa in the All India Football Federation U-15 Junior League at Nagoa ground, on Thursday.
There were four different scorers for Salgaocar FC while Churchill Brothers assisted one with an own goal.
Riding high on confidence, Salgaocar FC took the lead in the eighth minute through Joasle Fernandes.
Once the goal was scored, Salgaocar FC took control of the game and scored two more goals in the span of two minutes in the 10th and 11th minutes to go three goals up.
Flann Crasto netted the second while Jordan Borges scored the third.
Churchill Brothers FC Goa put up a decent performance in the later stages of the game however they couldn’t really test the keeper. However, just before the break, Churchill Bros’ Sandeep Chaudhary scored an own goal to give Salgaocar FC 4-0 lead at the break.
Crossing over, second half substitute Cleaven Nevin D’Costa scored the fifth goal for the Green Brigades.
