Goa Police, Corps of Signals draw

MAPUSA: Goa Police Sports Club came with two late goals to hold Corps of Signals to a 2-2 draw in the GFA’s First Division League match, at Duler Stadium, here, on Thursday.

Signals surged ahead in the second minute when Lenin Mithran darted his way into the Goa Police danger zone and lobbed the ball over the advancing keeper.
Soon, they fired in their second goal through Pawan Thakur who accurately headed in Lalramsanga’s cross inside the danger zone.
On resumption, Goa Police SC seemed to be more focused and sharp in their attack which eventually helped them reduce the margin in the 80th minute where Tushar Dessai made a fine run down the right and flashed the ball across to Mouzzan Shaikh, who fired the ball into the far corner of the nets.
In the injury time, Goa Police SC restored parity as Gaurav Korkonkar, who on getting hold of the ball from Abdul Khan, tapped the ball home.
