PANJIM: The Goa Tower Run 2015, the second edition of the iconic race up and down the staircases of five seven-storeyed buildings (totally 840 steps) at Panjim’s business hub, EDC Complex, Patto, will be held on Sunday, at 8am.
Participants will run up and down the stairs of Gera’s Imperium I and II, Kamat Plaza, Star Bhavan (Bank of India) and Dempo Trade Centre, and then to the finish.
Individual and
Team Challenge
Individuals run up and down all five buildings. Teams of five members do a relay; each person runs up and down one building and passing the baton to the next. There are three Team categories: groups, corporate and inter-collegiate.
Why Tower Running
Climbing up stairs is an easy, accessible and effective exercise; it burns three times the calories as a brisk walk. It brings down the incidence of lifestyle ailments like heart disease, strokes, high blood pressure and diabetes, which have already replaced communicable diseases as the No: 1 cause of deaths in India.
