MAPUSA: Goa Velha Saints and Flaming Oranje shared a point each in the Vedanta Women’s Football League, organised by Goa Football Association and played at Sirsaim ground, on Wednesday.
With both the keepers being hardly tested in the 60 minutes of the match, the teams played a goalless draw to return home with a point each to their points tally.
On Tuesday, Panjim Dolphins register a big win as they drubbed Cuncolim Warriors by 5-1 margin.
All the goals came in the first session of play. Karishma Shirvoikar netted a hat-trick, with Michel Castanha and Vega Fernandes adding two more goals for the Panjim Dolphins. For Cuncolim Warriors the only consolation goal was scored by Vailnka D’Souza.
By virtue of this win, Panjim Dolphins lead the chart with nine points from three games.
On Monday, Santa Cruz Club of Cavelossim SOWS defeated Albert Princesses 3-1 to brighten their chances of entering the semi-finals.
Santa Cruz Club of Cavelossim took the lead in the sixth minute of the game when Sujata Murgaonkar left footer entered the nylons beating Albert keeper Annette. Sushmita Jadav scored the second goal for Cavelossim, off a cleverly floated free kick by Nevila Colaco.
In the second half, substitute Kushboo Saudakar scored off her very first touch to make the score line 3-0. For Albert Princesses, Cindia Saudadikar reduced the margin from a direct free-kick.
