FATORDA: Goa Velha SC got the better of Varca Sports Club 3-1 to move into the semi-finals of the 18th Bro Eulalio Vaz memorial football tournament organised by Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda at Fatorda ground on Thursday.
At half time, Goa Velha were leading 2-1.
Jhonus D’Costa after dribbling a couple of Goa Velha players placed the ball inside the net to open the account in the 4th minute off Velroy D’Cruz connect .
But the joy was short-lived as Goa Velha equalised through the efforts of Yogendra Thapa within 10 minutes. Yogendra soon completed his brace to make it 2-1 for Goa Velha.
Post resumption, Joseph Gomes netted the third in the 38th minute as the match progressed. Velroy D’Cruz of Varca Sports Club tried his level best to score in the 42nd and 50th minutes but failed to convert with his solo long rangers.
