PANJIM: Goa’s Anura Prabhu Desai who is brand ambassador of Geno Pharmaceuticals Ltd. and represents Northern Railway team won 2 silver and 1 bronze medals at the 68th All India Railway Championship, at Vishakapatnam.

In the team event, Northern Railway team of which Anura is a part lost 1-2 in the final to West Central Railway team thereby securing a silver. Anura won the first singles against Shreyanshi Pardesi 21-19, 25-23. Anura partnering Kanika Kanwal in women’s doubles lost against Shreyanshi and Bharti Pal 16-21, 21-14, 13-21 in the final.
In women’s singles Anura secured the silver. In the quarter-finals she beat Vaishnavi Bhale 21-10, 21-13. She defeated Riya Mookeerjee 21- 11, 21-12 in the semi finals. Desai lost to Shreyanshi Pardesi 11-21,18-21 in the final.
In the mixed doubles, Anura and Bodhit Joshi won bronze medal after defeating Akshay Raut and Tapaswini Roy 21-18,21-11. They lost to Shreyanshi and Chirag Sen 21-8, 21-15 in the semi-finals.
