The event got underway on January 8 with Minister for Industries Mahadev Naik as the chief guest in the presence of MLA Subhash Phaldesai, BJP President, Vinay Tendulkar; Director of Sports and Youth Affairs, VM Prabhu Desai, Executive Director of SAG, Sandip Jacques and other dignitaries.
The closing function was held on January 9 with North Goa MP and Union Ministry of AYUSH, Shripad Naik as the chief guest. Naik presented the trophies to the athletes in the presence of South Goa MP, Narendra Sawaikar, SAG Treasurer, Arun Bhat; Joint Director (Accounts) Minguel Fernandes; Director (Administration), Praveen Volvotkar; Assistant Secretary (Programme), Navin Acharya and other dignitaries.
The players belonging to the ST community excelled in various sports. Also other outstanding sports persons were felicitated along with the Canacona Taluka Physical Education teachers for their contribution in promoting tribal sports.
