PANJIM: Govt. College, Pernem defeated Govt. College of Commerce, Margao by 132 runs and Parvatibai Chowgule College, Margao beat CES College, Cuncolim by 20 runs in Goa University inter-college cricket tournament.
Pernem batted first and scored 215/2 in 20 overs. Rama Gaonkar 115 not out, Sakharam Narulkar 58 and Prakaesh Sorest 20 were the top scorers for Pernem. In reply, Govt College, Margao just managed to score 83/10 in 16 overs. Sakharam Narulkar 2/8 and Bhiva Tendel 2/6 struck for Pernem.
Chowgule beat CES College, Cuncolim by 20 runs. Batting first Chowgule scored 158/8 in 20 overs. Dhiraj Naik 54, Samih Kunttan 37 scored for Chowgule while Sameer Velip 2/23 struck for CES. In reply, CES scored 138/8 in 20 overs. Babloo Zore 32 and Sumit Dessai 50 topscored for CES. Akash Telgir 2/20 and Rohan Kale 2/16.
