MARGAO:  Chief Minister, Digambar Kamat has said that nobody would dare to deny ticket to GPCC general secretary Vijai Sardessai in Fatorda, as Vijai launched his poll campaign in style by seeking blessings of Lord Damodar, St Francis Xavier and Our Lady of Rosary on Monday.

“Vijai had been working with the people of Fatorda last five years. Nobody would dare to deny him the ticket the way he has worked in the constituency. The presence of youth and women shows the extent of support Vijai enjoys in Fatorda”, Kamat said, as he joined a huge crowd of Vijai supporters to Lord Damodar Temple, St Xavier Chapel and Our Lady of Rosary Church, Fatorda to seek divine blessings

Later, addressing a meeting at Fatorda, the Chief Minister said that certain politicians make their presence felt during elections like mushrooms, but exuded confidence that people would stand by those who were with them during the last five years.

In his address, Vijai said he has continued his work during the last five years because of the love and affection shown by the people of Fatorda.

“The growing support has again prompted some people to field some candidates just to split votes and help the BJP in the elections”, he said, while expressing confidence that people of Fatorda would support him for a change.

Prashant Naik, Monica Dias, comedy supremo Humbert, Camilo Barretto, Councillor Joseph Silva and others spoke.
