MARGAO: A team of election officials, including officials from the Margao flying squad, excise and police descended at Buring in Balli village coming under Cuncolim constituency on late Monday evening following information that cash of around Rs six crore was being stacked in a residential house.
Police and election officials came in around 13 vehicles and were conducting a detailed search of a house and the entire area behind for liquor and cash.

Information revealed that the squad laid its hand on liquor, including cartons of beer and whisky, and has asked the owner to submit the documents and permissions to store liquor in the house.
What surprised the locals was the search conducted by the team in the three vehicles parked near the house of the owner and the area behind the house.
Margao Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Dasharath Redkar was personally present during the raid and search of the house and the surrounding area. However, officials said that no cash was found in the house, and the excise officials were verifying the documents in respect of the liquor, which included 14 cartons of beer, three cartons of brandy, one carton of whisky, besides other brands of liquor.
