MARGAO: Guardian Angel SC, Curchorem prevailed over Navelim Sporting Club 4-3 via the tie-breaker to cruise into the quarter-finals of St Anthony’s UK Cup Super Soccer tournament organized by St Anthony’s Sports Club, Colva at DSYA ground, Colva, Thursday. The teams were locked goalless at full time.
Guardian Angel were sharp in their efforts with Melvito Fernandes breaching the rival defence with well sporadic raids. He nearly broke the deadlock but his rasping try was blocked by the rival goalkeeper.
In the tie-breaker, Melvito Fernandes, Austin Fernandes, Anthony Dias and Marcus D’Costa were on target for Guardian Angel while Allister Gomes, Alvito Colaco and Sanford Cardozo scored for Navelim Sporting Club.
