PANJIM: Herald Publication won the team championship for second consecutive year in Inter Media Indoor Sports meet organised by Sports Journalists Association of Goa when Amrish Parab & Flavio Lopes of Herald won the doubles Badminton tournament held at SAG Indoor stadium, Campal, today.
Herald secured 44 points while second placed Lokmat secured 40 points.
On the last day of the meet Gitesh Verenkar of Lokmat won the badminton singles tournament for second year running by defeating Hemant Parab of Navind Times in the final.
In doubles final Amrish Parab and Flavio Lopes of Herald defeated Gitesh Verenkar and Shekhar Naik of Lokmat.
Winners 1) Chess Vinay Joglekar (TOI) winner, Viju Pillai (Lokmat) second place.
2) Carrom Ajit Hoble (Lokmat) winner, Amrish Parab (Herald) runners up.
Doubles Amrish Parab, Amar Patil (Herald) winner, Nishant Shirwaikar,Adhik Morajkar (Prudent) runners up.
3) Table Tennis Amrish Parab (Herald) winner, Vinay Salkar (Navhind Times ) runners up.

Narhar Thakur, General Secretary of Goa Badminton Association was the chief guest on the occasion. Sandeep Heble conducted the badminton tournament.
Sharad Naik, President of Sports Journalists Association of Goa welcomed, Manguesh R. Borkar, General Secretary SJAG compered while Niraj Prabhu, Vice President of SJAG proposed vote of thanks.
Inter Media Sports meet was organised with the help of Directorate of Sports & Youth Affairs and Sports Authority of Goa.
