Holiday Sports Club, Arpora took the better of Verna Sports Club 5-3 in the tie-breaker to move ahead in the 38th Custodio memorial football tournament, at Panchayat ground, Raia on Saturday.
Teams failed to open an account at the end of regulation time.
There was nothing to enthuse in the first half, as the teams indulged in mid-field play thereby making very few raids.
The knights in black from Holiday Sports Club showed some promise towards the later half, but were unable to dent the Verna citadel.
In the ensuing tie-breaker, Holiday were on target and scored all five penalties, while Verna faltered on the 4th kick, Rekson Fernandes shot into the outstretched hands of the goalkeeper thus giving Holiday a win.
