Salcete FC dominated the game right from the word go and pushed their opponents on the back-foot and their breakthrough came in the fourth minute after Oswald Fernandes’ dangerous free-kick hit the rival defender and eluded the goalkeeper, 1-0.
Crossing over, Salcete FC continued to enjoy the better ball possession and doubled the lead in the 44th minute when Liston D’Costa punished the rival goalkeeper with a clinical finish.
Down by two goals, Sirlim tried hard to come back into the game but the rival defenders were alert. Liston D’Costa drove the last nail into rival coffin.
Meanwhile, Guardian Angel Sports Club, Curchorem, Ambelim Sports Club, Baina Recreational Club and Ambelim Sports Club have withdrawn from the tournament. The last two named club were the office bearers of the clubs and GFA executive members.
