Sri Lanka Cricket on Monday announced the official schedule for the Lanka Premier League 2026, with the tournament set to begin on July 17 and conclude with the final on August 8.
Initially scheduled to start on July 10, the T20 league has now been pushed back by a week. The tournament will run for 22 days across four venues in Sri Lanka, with the Sinhalese Sports Club (SSC) in Colombo making its debut as an LPL venue.
Five franchises — Jaffna Kings, Galle Marvels, Kandy Falcons, Dambulla Sixers and Colombo Kaps — will compete for the title.
The opening match of the competition will see Jaffna Kings face Galle Marvels at the SSC in Colombo on July 17. The league phase is scheduled to run until August 2 before the playoffs begin on August 5.
Qualifier 1 and the Eliminator will both be played on August 5 at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo, while Qualifier 2 is scheduled for August 7. The final will take place on August 8, with August 9 kept as a reserve day in case of rain interruptions.
Apart from SSC and R. Premadasa Stadium, matches will also be hosted at the Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium and the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy.
Broadcast and streaming details for India are yet to be officially confirmed. However, the previous edition of the tournament was televised on Star Sports Network, while FanCode held the streaming rights.
