Davorlim: Macazana Welfare SC defeated Navelim Villagers Union 1-0 to move into the semi-finals of the 12th Rosary Cup played at Zori Vaddo, Davorlim ground on Wednesday.
In the first half Macazana Welfare SC squandered an opportunity as Seby Martins collected a ball from Nevillie Fernandes and balloned it over the cross piece of Navelim Villagers Union.
The opportunities rolled by Navelim Villagers in the 24th minute with Adrian Coelho missing from close range.
At change of ends Neville Fernandes well placed his shot into the net off a Seby Martins assist to give Macazana Welfare SC 1-0 lead in the 36th minute.
Navelim Villagers fought back and almost restored parity in the 40th minute with Alvito Colaco header being saved by goalkeeper of a beautiful cross from Adrian Coelho.
Macazana Welfare SC defended their slender lead till full time to move into the semi-finals with a 1-0 win over Navelim Villagers.
