PANJIM: Margao United edged past Sai XI Guddi 1-0 to secure the top spot in men’s Goans Hockey League (South District) match at Fatorda ground.
After a couple of misses by the teams, George Goes scored the lone goal off a defence splitting pass from Glen Frad.
Sai XI Guddi tried their best to equalize but Naveen in the Margao United goal pulled off some brilliant saves to deny Mandar and Noor.
Both Margao United and Sai XI Guddi qualified for the state level knock out tournament.
