MAPUSA: Mormugao Sports Club trounced Friends XI Vaddem by 8-0 margin in the Lakanpal Novino Soccer Cup, organised by Candolim Sports Club, at Dr. Gustavo Monteiro ground, Candolim, on Sunday.
The highlight of today’s match was a double hat-trick from the boots of Shivraj Thakur and Beevan Fernandes.
In the first session, it was Shivraj Thakur who scored three quick goals in the 23rd, 24th and 26th minute to complete his fast hat-trick for Mormugao.
On crossing over, Beevan Fernandes scored four goals in the 41st, 43rd, 46th and 49th minute of play.
Sushant Borkar added his name to the scorers list by hammering in the eighth goal, to put his team ahead.
