MARCAIM: Nagueshi Youth defeated title contenders Tarvale Cricket Club by 7 runs to emerge champions of the Navdurga T-20 Panchayat level leather ball cricket tournament organized by Shree Navdurga Sports Club, at Marcaim Panchayat ground on Sunday.
Nagueshi Youth batted first and scored 197 for 5 in allotted 20 overs with Siddhesh Naik and Kedar Naik notching half centuries.
In reply, Tarvale Cricket Club scored 190 runs in their inning in allotted overs. For Tarvale CC, Swapnil Malik hammered fluent 85 runs in 53 balls.
Winners Naguesh Youth were awarded Rs 50,000 and a trophy while Tarvale CC had to be content with Rs 25,000 and a trophy. Mithil Dhavlikar was the chief guest and handed over the prizes.
