Don Bosco Oratory scored a narrow 6- 5 win via the tie-breaker over Sao Jose de Areal Sports Club to enter the semi-final of Gold Silver Rolling Trophy inter-village football tournament organised by Navelim Sporting Club at Rosary ground, Navelim on Monday. The teams were tied 1-1 at the end of regulation time.
Sao Jose de Areal went into the lead in the 20th minute when Mario Rebello fired home from close range.
Don Bosco Oratory showed a lot of promise after change of ends and their forwards raided the rival citadel umpteen times. Their efforts paid off in the 45th minute when Remedious Furtado bulged the net.
Sao Jose de Areal goalkeeper Alleulia Fernandes was adjudged man-of-the match.
In the tie-breaker, Agnelo Furtado, Socorro Furtado, Vincent Barbosa, Santan Furtado and Wilson Dias converted for Don Bosco Oratory while Freddy Olveira, Soccoro Monteiro, Aroon Eendro and S Endro were successfull for Sao Jose de Areal.
