Nerul Sports Club started the game on an attacking flair and the breakthrough came in the 22nd minute when Siddarth Shirodkar picked up the ball from Samir and the former punted the ball to the far corner of the net.
The early goal gave Nerul Sports Club an opportunity to pile tremendous pressure and put the rival defence into disarray. Akash Banulikar bugled the net in the 31st minute.
Down by 0-2, Goa Warrior FC launched a barrage of attacks and came close to scoring a goal but Prajot Naik failed to beat the rival goalkeeper in a one-to-one situation.
Earlier, Akash doubled the lead in the 31st minute when he unleashed a stiff shot which found the roof of the net.
Stung by the double blows, Goan Warrior FC regrouped quickly and nearly reduced the deficits but Dnayanash Mudal’s pile driver was saved by the rival goalkeeper.
Post resumption, Goan Warrior FC put up a vast improved display and created umpteen forays into the rival territory and their efforts bore the fruits when Vjeet scored a goal but Paul Cardozo sent the crowds into raptures as he netted the third goal.
