MAPUSA: Nerul Sports Club registered a 10-9 win via tie-breaker over PVC Parra in the inaugural match of the 13th Reira Trophy inter-village football tournament, organised by Saligao Sporting Club, at Saligao Sporting Club ground, on Saturday.
At the end of the regulation time the teams were locked in a 2-2 draw.
In an evenly fought encounter, PVC Parra surged ahead in the sixth minute through Atish Mirajkar, who scored with a neat placement.
On crossing over, Nerul’s Anand Madgaonkar managed to level terms in the 50th minute as he scored with a stiff grounder.
As the match progressed, once again Parra took the lead through a smart header from Joyston Cardoz.
However, just a minute before the final whistle, Akash of Nerul equalised.
In the resultant shoot-out, Nerul SC proved to be the better shooters.
