FATORDA: Hosts Fatorda Veterans blanked Varca Veterans 2-0 to move into the final of Fatorda Veterans football tournament at DBO Ground, Murida-Fatorda, on Saturday.
Niclau Borges, striker of Fatorda Veterans was in thick of actions on several occasions whereas for Varca Veterans Romouel D’Souza created chances.

Vincent Barbosa and Francus Andrade of Fatorda Veterans move were tackled by Yuri Ferrao, defender of Varca Veterans in the third and sixth minutes.
Later in the 9th minute, Varca Veterans Neil D’Cruz move was thwarted by Fatorda Veterans Agnelo Araujo.
Later in the 12th minute, Fatorda Veterans’ midfielder Camillo Monteiro floated the ball to Niclau, who rose high and took a header which crushed into the rival net. Two minutes later Varca Veterans Romouel’s shot missed the target by whiskers.
As the match progressed in the second half, Niclau shot from a close range but was timely saved by Varca Veterans keeper in the 47th minute.
Three minutes later, Niclau again netted his brace with a placement shot off Mahesh Kamble’s connect. Soccoro Pereira, substitute of Varca Veterans, tried at two shot but failed to convert into goals in the last five minutes of the match.
Fatorda Veterans will meet Bardez Veterans in the final.
