PANJIM: Just a month after the new committee took over the office, the Goa Football Association suffered a big jolt as the GFA Official Competition Committee chairman Domnic Pereira has submitted his resignation from the post on Monday.
“With regrets I have to state that it is not possible for me to continue as the chairman of the official competition committee of the GFA due to personal reasons,” stated Domnic in his resignation letter to the GFA President.
“As such after due consideration and deep thought I have decided to resign as chairman of official competition committee with effect from December 15, 2018. However, I shall continue to function as a responsible and an effective executive committee Bardez zone, which I have always been,” the resignation letter read.
Domnic highlighted that it had become impossible for him continue as the chairman stating, “I have to state that it has become impossible for me to function as the chairman of the competition, as at the moment it involves travelling to the GFA secretariat at least four times a week for atleast 3 to 5 hours a day and this has adverse effects on my profession as a lawyer and also my health as I have to sit up till late hours and early mornings to fulfil and complete my legal work,” read the letter.
Domnic, in his resignation letter, also requested to appoint a full time General Secretary and a peon at the GFA secretariat.
