Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda defeated Navelim Villagers Union 2-1 to storm into the finals of Sebastiao Rosario Dias memorial inter-village football tournament organised by Davorlim Sports Club at Zarrivaddo ground, Davorlim on Wednesday. The winners led 1-0 at half time.
Don Bosco, who dominated the proceedings right from the start, went into the lead when Silvano Crasto bulged the net from close range.
Stung by the setback, Navelim tried their best but could not find success due to tardy marksmanship by their strikers.
Crossing over, it was again Don Bosco who went all out to increase their tally and doubled the lead when Wilson Dias’ snap shot beat the rival keeper.
Stunned by the double blow, Navelim went all out and managed to score the consolation goal through Wilson Rodrigues, late in the second half.
