MAPUSA: Portais Sporting Club continued their fine run as they crushed Football Club Siolim 7-1, in GFA’s Third Division League North zone play-off final, at Duler Stadium, here, on Saturday. The winners led 2-0 at half time.
FC Siolim dictated terms in the initial stages of the match but Portais kept their cool and opened the floodgates in the 27th minute through a superb header by Piedade Colaco off a curling corner taken by Assli Carvalho.
Subsequently, Piedade doubled the advantage as the striker gave finishing touches to a perfect cross by Pratap Sawant.
Post resumption, Piedade completed his hat-trick and also secured his fourth goal of the evening while Vinayak Sawant, Govind Mahale, Vinay Sawant and Saeeth Narvekar added a goal each to the scoreline. Arnold Fernandes scored the lone goal for FC Siolim.
