CALANGUTE: Pilerne Sports Club got the better of Goa Velha Sports Club 2-0 in Lakhanpal Novino Cup football organized by Candolim Sports Club at Dr Gustavo Monteiro ground, Candolim, Thursday. There was no score at half time.

After resumption, Pilerne played good short passes as Gaurish Kamat set up Royston, who shot past the rival custodian for the opener.
Subsequently, Pilerne doubled their lead in the 57th minute through Yeshwant Nagvekar off a well-measured cross from Anson D’Souza.
