PANJIM: Progress High School, Sanquelim got the better of St Joseph Institute, Aquem-Margao 4-3 via the tie-breaker to emerge champions in the State level mini-secondary school sports football tournament for under-17 Boys.
The score was 1-0 at the breather.
In the first half, Progress HS scored through Aaren D’Silva.
Changing ends, St. Joseph HS was awarded a penalty kick and Liston Colaco made no mistake in bringing in the equalizer.
Till the end of play the score remained 1-1.
In the penalty shootouts, Progress HS won with a score of 4-3.
Chief Guest for the prize distribution ceremony was Sister Faria, headmistress of St. Joseph Institute. Also present were the PE teachers of both schools and State Sports Organiser Devraj Tari.
In the third place match, Don Bosco High School, Panjim defeated Guardian Angel, Curchorem 3-0.
