RAIA: Parish Youth Nuvem secured a comfortable win over United Club of Benaulim 4-0 to enter into the quarter-finals of UCT Trophy inter-village 9-a-side football tournament organised by United Club of Telaulim at Government Primary School ground, Telaulim, on Tuesday.

Parish Youth Nuvem rode on the braces in each half from Francisco Colaco and Joywin Costa.

The match started on promising note and Parish Youth Nuvem had the upper hand and were in possession of ball for 65 to 70 per cent on the field.

It was Francisco who opened the scoreline for PY Nuvem in the 7th minute of play with neat placement of a pass from Niclau Colaco.

UC Benaulim got the chance to level the score when Swisten Rebello gave a pass from the left wing outside the box which was well-taken but deflected the PY Nuvem defence and went out for a corner.

Then PY Nuvem created a counter-attack before the half time and Schubert Colaco gave a through pass to Joywin Costa, who beat the defence and goalkeeper and placed the ball in the far corner of the net to make it, 2-0, at the breather.

After resumption of second session, UC Benaulim’s Josbern Fernandes was well fed by Stallone Fernandes but the goalkeeper saved his powerful shoot by diving to his right to clear the ball for a corner kick.

As the match progressed in the fourth quarter, Parish Youth Nuvem scored another two goals.

In the 40th minute, a sole effort by Francisco made it 3-0 and to complete his brace. Before the final whistle, Joywin completed his brace by scoring the 4th goal.

Francisco Colaco of Parish Youth Nuvem was award the man-of-the-match by Anthony Pires.
