MAJORDA: Parish Youth Nuvem booked their place in the final of the St Rock’s super soccer tournament after a narrow 1-0 win over Carmona SC in the semi-final encounter, at the Calata ground, Majorda, on Saturday.
The winning goal was scored by Stephen Colaco in the closing stages of the first half.
At the start of the game, Carmona’s Neil D’Cruz missed the target by inches.
Meanwhile, PY Nuvem created chances through Mefon Coutinho who tried to nudge the ball into goal, Carmona goalkeeper Mohammad Shaikh however closed him down and blocked his shot.
Nuvem finally managed to open the scoring through Inacio Colaco who passed the ball to Stephen. The latter powerfully drove the ball into the net to make it 1-0 for Nuvem. PY Nuvem led 1-0 lead at half-time.
The second half was barren as both the sides tried their level best to get the score however their strikers faltered at the goal.
