MAJORDA: Rossman Cruz Sports Club, Nagoa entered the final of 20th Fr Basilio Andrade Memorial Football Tournament, defeating Betalbatim Sports Club 5-4 via the tie-breaker at Musson ground, Majorda on Wednesday.
Both the teams played a good brand of football with equal exchanges.
Francisco Fernandes, goalkeeper of Rossman Cruz team was excellent under the bar and brought couple of saves to deny Betalbatim’s Klunser Periera and Savan Lotlikar.
On the other end, Betalbatim SC keeper Rhys Rebello also showed good reflexes by depriving Clifton Rebello and Savio Fernandes of Rossman at least on two occasions in the 43rd and 44th minutes respectively.
Rossman goalkeeper Francisco had to stretch full length to push a Asher Alfonso header for a corner kick, which otherwise would have been a sure goal.
The teams were tied goalless.
Rossman Cruz Nagoa converted through Francisco Fernandes, Christo D’Mello, Noel D’Silva, Myran Fernandes and Iman Guled and for Betalbatim SC, Manushan Fernandes, Alaric D’Cunha, Travis Baretto and Jesus Fernandes found the net.
