Stripped from captaincy, gets 2-match ban; Kashinath fined
PANJIM: The Goa Cricket Association Inquiry Committee today stripped Sagun Kamat of his captaincy and imposed a first class two-match ban for the season 2013-14 for violent conduct while Kashinath Chari was also not spared for his involvement in the incident.
Chari was levied a composite fine of Rs 2,500 and put a condition to recover it within 15 days. He also being an employee of GCA faced another action for misconduct for going on leave uninformed, for which, his pay for two days was deducted.

The committee consisting of Atul Naik, member and Chetan Desai, convenor and chaired by Dr Shekhar Salkar took the decisions at a meeting held at the conference hall, GCA Academy, Porvorim. The leave of absence was granted to Manohar Naik.
The Inquiry Committee heard Sagun and Kashinath and the witnesses Sahil Dhuri, Rohan Belekar, Hemant Shetgaonkar and also Chandra Tendulkar (match referee). Vivek Kolambkar (team official, Dempo Cricket Club) and Sanjay Kanekar (president, Sunny Cricket Club) also gave their statements.
The GCA had set up an inquiry to the incident which took place on April 21, during the Premier League match between Sunny Club and Dempo Cricket Club, at BITS Pilani ground, Vasco wherein Sagun of Dempo had assaulted Kashinath of Sunny SC.
