SANVORCOTTO-CUNCOLIM: Sporting Club Davorlim blanked Parish Youth Nuvem 2-0 to move into the quarter-finals of the 10th Cuncolim Union inter-village rolling football tournament, organised by Cuncolim Union at Cuncolim ground, on Wednesday.
Sporting Club of Davorlim missed the first chance of the match through Mable Miranda’s long-range effort which hit the Nuvem post and went out of play.
At the half hour mark, Nuvem’s Agnelo Colaco’s shot kissed the Davorlim goal post.
In the second half, Davorlim’s coach Rosfern changed the game plan bringing in Paxton Gomes and the plan worked as the lad scored immediately with a placement shot in the 43rd minute.
Five minutes later, Davorlim’s Sydroy Miranda took everyone by surprise when his shot from the centre curled and landed into Nuvem net to double the lead for Davorlim.
SC Davorlim will meet Betalbatim SC in the quarter-finals on October 15.
