BENAULIM: SC Davorlim downed Curtorim Gymkhana 2-1 to move into the quarter-finals of the 42nd Cana-Benaulim soccer organised by Cana-Benaulim Sporting Association, at Sao Joao Baptist ground, Dando-Benaulim, on Wednesday.
A set piece worked out by Curtorim’s Weldon Fernandes and Clifton Barbosa was supplied to Milagres Fernandes who chipped the ball over the head of the Davorlim keeper Selito Miranda in the 46th minute to give the Curtorim side the lead.
Four minutes later, Davorlim equalised through substitute Piedade Colaco froma glancing header.
As the match progressed in the 56th minute, Wellington Rocha scored the match-winner for SC Davorlim with a spot kick.
SC Davorlim will now meet United Club of Nerul in the quarter-finals on August 5.
