DAVORLIM: SC Davorlim got the better of Snows Football Academy, Arlem, Raia 5-3 via the tie-breaker to move into the final of the Davorlim Cup football tournament, at Davorlim panchayat ground, on Monday.
in the second minute, Snow’s Oilex Oliveira should have found the net but the latter’s move was thwarted by Davorlim’s Leasser Raikar from the defence line.
At the other end, a powerful shot by the Davorlim striker Abhay Shetty hit the Snows post and went out of play in the 6th minute. Minutes later, Snows striker Lloyd Cardozo took control of the ball from Oilex Oliveira and dribbled past a couple of defenders and sent a ball to Shohan Fernandes who took a glancing header to net the opening goal for Snows in the 26th minute.
Davorlim’s Paxton Gomes took a long range shot which was easily saved by Snows keeper Lio Colaco in the 28th minute.
As the match progressed in the second half, SC Davorlim equalised through Paxton Gomes in the 46th minute.
In the resultant tie-breaker, SC Davorlim netted through Paxton Gomes, Leasser Raikar, Joe Gomes and Selwyn Miranda netted while Johnsthan Cardoz and Lio Colaco scored for Snows Football Academy.
