SCC Cavelossim enter quarters

Santa Cruz Club of Cavelossim trounced Pax of Nagoa Sports Club 4-0 to move into the quarter-final of Muriel Faleiro memorial inter-village football tournament organised by Parish Youth, Nuvem at church ground, Nuvem on Wednesday. Santa Cruz Club of Cavelossim were leading 1-0 at the breather.
Santa Cruz Club of Cavelossim dominated the entire proceedings and Pax of Nagoa were on the back foot throughout the match.
Santa Cruz Club of Cavelossim went into the lead midway in the opening session when striker Raju Cardozo bulged the net after he picked up a through pass from Elroy Pereira.
Crossing over, Santa Cruz Club of Cavelossim continued to enjoy in the same vein and called the shots against the rival citadel. The Cavelossim team pushed for further success as they exerted pressure on the rival goal with fine passing bouts. It was not long before they tasted further success when Raju Cardozo doubled the lead with a snap shot.
Santa Cruz Club of Cavelossim consolidated the lead further when Elroy Pereira punted the ball to the far corner of the net.
With Pax of Nagoa not showing fighting spirit, Santa Cruz Club of Cavelossim made merry with Paxton Pereira rounding off the tally late in the second half.
