Seven in fray for Sardessai award

MAPUSA, AUG 5
Seven sportspersons have applied for Dilip Sardessai Memorial award  which will be presented on August 29 to commemorate World Sports Day.
The amount of award has been raised from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 2 lakh.
In the first year, international footballer Mahesh Gawli received the prestigious award.
Gold and bronze medalist (Lusofonia Games) Chandan Lakra, P Anand, Sunil Sharma, Angela Naik (taekwondo), international footballer Climax Lawrence, Kavita Arti and Geeta Borkar (baseball) are those who have applied for the award.
