Shivaji SA face Air India in finals

Hot favourites Air India, Mumbai booked their place in the finals prevailing over Bardez Veterans 4-3 via the tie-breaker while Shivaji Sports Academy, Kolhapur got the better of Golden Gunners, Mumbai 4-2 also via the tie-breaker in the All-India Veterans football tournament jointly organised by PVC Association, Parra and Bardez Veterans, at Dr. Gustavo Monteiro Stadium, Candolim, on Friday.
In the first semi-final, the teams failed to score at regulation time. In the penalties, Kolhapur kept their nerves to win 4-2. Jalinder Raut, Amor Aprath, Amor Patil and Narcisco Fernandes converted for Kolhapur while Jonathan Fernandes and Maxy D’Souza were on target for Mumbai.
In another semi-final, Air India, Mumbai prevailed over Bardez Veterans 4-3 on penalties. Though, the teams created numerous moves, their forwards failed to find the net, thus settling for a goalless draw.
Air India won the match 4-3 on penalties. Joginder Thapa, Santan D’Souza, Anil Laxman and Khambiton Singh converted for Air India while Fausto Lobo, Bruno Coutinho and Lino Pereira found the mark for Bardez Veterans.
Now, Shivaji Sports Academy will face Air India in the finals on Saturday.
