PANJIM: Football Club of Siolim defeated Candolim Sports Club by a solitary goal to move into quarter finals of 10th Anjuna-Caisua Village Panchayat Cup Inter Village football tournament organised by Chapora Yuvak Sangh at Chapora grounds on Friday.
Siolim were awarded a penalty in the 22nd minute for a handball which was coolly converted by Rajesh Pomburpekar to give them the lead
Trailing by a goal, Candolim went all out in search of the equalizer but the Siolim defense stood its ground to deny Candolim the goal. The match ended 1-0.
