PANJIM: Sao Jose de Areal defeated Nagoa Sporting Arpora 5-3 via the tie-breaker to enter the finals of 17th Holy Cross inter-village football tournament at Vodlemoll ground, Kakoda. Areal lead 1-0 at half time.
Areal enjoyed greater amount of possession in the first session with Mario providing a stream of accurate passes to his forwards. Arpora earned a free-kick but it was blasted over the post by Mansoor Khan. Bersel Viegas put Areal ahead through a cool finish beating the goalkeeper and three defenders.

In the second half, Arpora pushed up for the equalizer but couldn’t find one until the last minute when Stanley Coutinho equalized with a stunning shot.
In the tie-breaker, Aggio Antao, Fedrick Endro, Bersel Viegas and Aliston Moura were on target for Areal while Stanley Coutinho and Pankaj Kalangutkar were on target for Arpora.
Areal will face Margao Sports Club in the finals.
