PANJIM: Young rising talents Sparsh Kolwalkar, Shane D’Souza, Dimple Revankar, Aaryaa Metry, Saanvi Audi and Sudhanva Udupa moved into the semi-finals of Yonex Sunrise All-Goa Major Ranking Badminton Tournament organised by Salcete Badminton Club, Vision Goa under the aegis of Goa Badminton Association and Sports Authority of Goa, at Manohar Parrikar indoor stadium, Navelim, on Saturday.
The tournament witnessed exciting matches in the U-15, U-17 and non-ranking U-11, U-13 categories, drawing top talent from across the State.
In U-15 boys singles, Aarush Pawaskar, Sparsh Kolwalkar, Sudhanva Udupa, and Shane D’Souza have sealed their berths into the semi-finals. Ritika Chelluri, Saanvi Audi, Dimple Revankar and Aaryaa Metry have secured their places in the U-15 girls singles semi-finals.
The U-17 boys singles semi-finals will feature top-seeded Advait Balakrishnan, Aarush Pawaskar, Rutav Kanabar and Soham Naik.
Meanwhile, in the non-ranking categories, Krithik Reddy, Anav Kannekar, Mihir Chafadkar and Ayansh Sanke have moved into the U-11 boys singles semi-finals, with Amaira Dhumatker, Komal Kothari, Aditi Dhargalkar and Kanika Pai Vernekar advancing in the U-11 girls singles.
The tournament was inaugurated by entrepreneur Chirag Datta Naik (Vision Goa), in the presence of Goa Badminton Association President Manoj Patil, Secretary Praveen Shenoy, Salcete Badminton Club officials Sidharth Rivonkar (president), Santosh Lotlikar (secretary), Sharmad Mahajan (tournament director) and Satya Kolwalkar among others.
