CUNCOLIM: Sporting Club Davorlim beat United Club of Benaulim by a 3-0 margin to enter into the quarter-finals of the Rising Cup inter village football tournament organized by Rising Sports Club of Sanvorcotta, at Cuncolim school ground, on Friday.
Sporting Club Davorlim led by a goal at the breather.
It was Mable Miranda who opened the scoring for Davorlim in the 11th minute of the match off a pass from Paxton Gomes.
Sporting Club doubled the lead in the 56th minute through Vellington Rocha whose header beat the goalkeeper Swisforn D’silva off a cross from Mable Miranda.
Substitute Robinson Colaco made the issue safe for Sporting Davorlim by scoring the third goal in the last minute of the match.
Mable Miranda who had good match through-out was declared man-of-the-match.
Benaulim tried their best but their strikers lacked sharpness.
