RAIA: St Anthony Sports Club, Assolda, marched into the final of 42nd Sao Jose de Areal Panchayat Cup organised by Sao Jose de Areal SC, with a thumping 5-0 victory over Uguem Rising Club in a completely one-sided semi-final encounter at Padribhat ground, Sao Jose de Areal, on Monday.
St Anthony Sports Club drew the first blood in the 10th minute when a handball by a Uguem Rising Club defender inside the box forced Referee Rohan Pereira to point to the spot.
Frazer Gomes made no mistake and calmly converted the penalty to give his side an early lead. St Anthony Sports Club’s ace striker, Vitorino Fernandes doubled the advantage in the 17th minute and later added another just before the breather in the 44th minute to put St Anthony Sports Club firmly in control.
In the closing stages, Sheldon Fernandes and Lisbon Gracias joined the party, netting a goal each to complete the rout.
