MAPUSA: St Britto’s High School, Mapusa defeated Mae de Deus High School, Corjuem 5-1 to enter the semi-finals of the Subroto Mukherjee – Bardez taluka boy’s U-14 football tournament, organised by Directorate of Sports & Youth Affairs, at Peddem ground on Thursday.
Durgesh Kodbal (2), Dion Lobo, Harsh Nagvenkar and Rish Pawaskar were the scorers for the winners, while Shourya Parwar scored the consolation for Mae de Deus.
In another match, St Ann’s HS Thivim got the better of St Theresa’s HS Candolim 5-4 via the tie-breaker to move into semi-finals.
At the end of regulation time the teams were locked in a goalless draw.
In another quarterfinals, St Joseph’s High School, Arpora defeated St. Joseph’s High School Calangute also via tie breaker 4-3. At full time the teams were locked 2-2.
