RAIA: St Cruz Society Club, Poitomaddo-Cuncolim, edged past Chandor Club, 1-0, to secure a spot in the semi-finals of the 43rd Gold Silver Rolling Trophy, played at Rosary Ground, on Wednesday.

Chandor’s goalkeeper, Presley Mascarenhas, stood out with several key saves, while teammate Vitorino Fernandes worked tirelessly. St Cruz missed early chances in the 4th and 5th minutes, and a powerful shot from Fernandes narrowly missed the goal in the 8th minute.

Dylan Carvalho scored the decisive goal for St Cruz in the 12th minute. Chandor’s efforts to equalise were denied, including a diving save by Mascarenhas in the 20th minute and a last-minute attempt by Viraj Velip in the 48th minute.

Dylan Carvalho was named man-of-the-match, presented by Edwin Cipru Cardozo, ZP member.
