PANJIM: Our Lady of Perpetual Socorro, Cortalim blanked Murgaon High School 2-0 to advance into the next round of the under-17 Mormugao Taluka Level Football Cup organised by Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, on Thursday.
Lezley and Melroy scored for Our Lady of Perpetual Socorro. Murgaon High School made lot of attempts but could not penetrate the rival defence to come on equal terms.
In another match, St Joseph Vaz High School outplayed Government High School, Vaddem Nagar 4-3 vie tie-breaker to move into the next round.
At the end of regulation time, St Joseph Vaz High School and Government High School failed to open an account by playing a goalless draw.
In the under-14 boys matches, St Andrews Institute scored a solitary goal win over Murgaon High School. Wesley D’Sa netted the all-important goal for the winners.
In the second match, St Thomas High School edged past St Anne High School 2-1.
