DAMON RAIA: St. Joseph HS, Shiroda overcame Saviour of the World HS, Loutolim 4-1 to move into the quarter-finals of the 3rd U-14 Fr Peter SVD Memorial football tournament, at SVD Seminary ground, on Saturday.
St Joseph HS, Shiroda opened the score-line in the 12th minute into the game through Calon Silveira with a penalty and later added another feather to his cap with his curling free-kick followed by Joldron Vaz and Daniel Cruz making it 4-0 in favour of St Joseph in the 14th, 20th and 39th minutes respectively.
Ubed Shaik ended the drought of Saviour of the World HS with his lone goal assisted by Melroy Fernandes. Joldron Vaz of St Joseph HS was awarded Man-of-the-match. St Joseph HS, Shiroda will now meet Our Lady of Mother of the Poor HS, Tilamol in the quarter-finals on September 28.
