MAJORDA: St Sebastian Youth Club Fatorda defeated SCC Loutolim 1-0 and moved into the semi-finals of the 20th Fr Basilio Andrade Football Tournament, played at Musson ground, Majorda on Thursday.
The all important goal for the winners was scored in the 3rd minute Christopher Borges with a power-packed shot.
Both the teams had glorious chances in the first half, but they missed the target from close distance.
Fatorda midfield gave good account of themselves with Nicolau Borges and Melvan Furtado sending some defence splitting passes upfront but strikers Mackwin and Vellino Barretto were found wanting.
Loutolim strikers Velory and Daren Gomes had one scoring opportunity in each half but both lack accuracy to find the net.
The second session saw Fatorda team making some brilliant moves but could not yield any further addition to the score sheet.
In the 65th minute, St Sebastian’s Franjoy Furtado’s effort was saved by Loutolim keeper Meiben Fernandes.
