MAPUSA: Clube Sao Miguel de Taleigao demolished Piedade Youth Association, Divar 6-1 in GFA’s U-20 Second Division football league match at Duler Stadium, here, Wednesday. The teams were locked 1-1 at half time.
Divar came into this match after a 7-0 drubbing at the hands of Goan Warriors in their previous match. However, Divar made a bright start and put up a creditable performance in the first session before crumpling after the restart.
Octavio Miranda opened the floodgates in the 35th minute for Taleigao with an inside the box strike but soon, Mahesh Naik levelled terms with a delightful finish, finding the top right corner of the goal.
Changing over, Taleigao displayed their true colours and stormed past the rival territory. Promising 15-year old Salu Santos scored the second, followed by a strike by Prajat Mondal.
Skipper Vikram Balekar played an instrumental role on both the occasions. Taleigao’s fourth came in the 82nd minute through Vikram while Octavio completed his hat-trick with two quick goals in the final minutes, 6-1.
